Any feedback on the show is very welcome - what did you like? What didn't you like? How can we improve? What would you like to see at the next show? Due to circumstances beyond the organisers' control, no fixed-wing aircraft could operate from Abingdon Airfield for the 2010 Abingdon Air & Country Show.
This was due to an issue surrounding the sign-off by Defence Estates of the licence which is required to operate fixed-wing aircraft from Abingdon for the event. As you will have seen
we managed to put on the flying display regardless, adding some more items to make up for the lack of operations from the airfield itself. Sadly the poor weather precluded the appearance
of the Jet Provost, Harvard and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Hi Guys i am posting this message on behalf of those who attended from the Fugro group. the feed back that i have received about the show has been great with all saying that they had an enjoyable day, with so much to see and do, however the comment that i have had from every one is that they where far to few a toilets with most having to wait 20 - 30 mins again as other have said if you put the ticket cost up by a couple of pounds and use the extra money for more toilets.

Thanks for the show - excellent flying displays; smoothly run; excellent support from the volunteers and 'staff'. Really good day out. The other events were enough to keep young children interested and there was plenty to see and do.
There is more that could be done to improve the day. Although I live in Abingdon I was not aware of the event until a week before. More advertising could help; although it is expensive, surely some local firms may be willing to help out? Sponsorship could really help. Could you approach the local councils, police, etc? Although it may be adequate for a smaller event, the catering seemed a bit less than adequate. Fair enough, more people came than you expected, but if you push a little 'up market' it could attract some local firms as sponsors / investors. To keep it local, firms like AMT could be offered a site. I'm not saying the places there were not good, but when I was looking for coffee at about 2 pm the only place doing FairTrade was closed.
Local firms could also be invited to run a stall possibly at a reduced rate? Abingdon model shop; The Bus Museum at Bladon; Oxford Airport; surely lots of local flight schools?
I know 'green' and air show don't seem to fit together, but plenty of people walked and cycled to the event. Would it be realistic to reduce the ticket price and charge for parking? Then ask a local firm to provide a special bus service for the day and charge those people less for tickets. Cyclists could park for free.
Just a few thoughts off the top of my head. But we will definately be back next year in any case.
Cheers,
J M Willoughby

First of all, great flying display from the participants, particularly enjoyed the glider display and the warbirds. However, I must echo what has already been said about site access and toilets. The toilet queues were so long at one stage I thought that I'd better rejoin the queue again to make sure of getting in!
