Any feedback on the show is very welcome - what did you like? What didn't you like? How can we improve? What would you like to see at the next show?

Due to circumstances beyond the organisers' control, no fixed-wing aircraft could operate from Abingdon Airfield for the 2010 Abingdon Air & Country Show. This was due to an issue surrounding the sign-off by Defence Estates of the licence which is required to operate fixed-wing aircraft from Abingdon for the event. As you will have seen we managed to put on the flying display regardless, adding some more items to make up for the lack of operations from the airfield itself. Sadly the poor weather precluded the appearance of the Jet Provost, Harvard and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

My thoughts to our first Royal Dalton show, the urge to go lead from our wanting to support the TVAC Air Ambulance, I hope you find these comments useful;

- Considering the weather, the range of events and entertainments layed on was excellent, just a shame that those pesky health and safety bods preventing planes from touching the ground

- There was no indication on paying our £13 per adult that a % of this went to charity. We nearly turned around on learning of the admission price, coupled with the bad weather (esp in the morning).

- The general parking was too far from the main arena, we have a young daughter, and like to use our car as "base camp" for offloading bits and for change of clothes etc. To be ordered around the area for static helicopters was a chore.

- The event could do with a food tent, just a marquee under which people can shelter from the rain/wind/sun whilst eating food from one of the stalls. We felt guilty drinking our tea within the public bar tent, and most people in there had brought their own lunches and were using the bar's seats etc.

- Toilet provision was very good, on my two visits they seemed clean too.

- We thought that laying on staff to take money, then check tickets, then sell programmes was over the top, and a bit annoying when you just want to get to see the show

Although we found the show of great entertainment overall, I hope that you can use this opinion to help future shows, which we hope to come to.

I live within ear-shot of Abingdon Airfield and if it was not for the couple of planes flying over, I again would not have known an air show was taking place!... I have to say that I did not read about it in the local papers but that is not to say that it was advertised. Can I suggest signs on the main routes in and about the town (Tesco's?)to get the message across. This is what the car booters do. You may just increase the gate figure... Just a thought

Shame on Defence Estates.

Regardless of the white collar brigade this is still a show well worth attending. The organisers have as usual worked very hard and as such, we shall return in 2011.
Some of the independent food sellers would have preferred to have been closer to the flight line to sell those lovely cakes etc!
I feel the show organisers deserve a medal for their effort so well done guys!

A show not to be missed.

Last year my 2 children (5 & 6 yrs) and i watched from a car park and i promised them faithfully we would be going this year. They were looking forward to it for months and were not dissapointed, even though the weather let us down and the planes were not allowed to land!!! We have learnt a lot from our 1st experience and will definatley be returning next year (hopefully with the sun!). Fingers crossed the problems are sorted out for next year, so that there are more aircraft on the ground to get up close to and have a look around. That would complete a fantastic day. Looking for forward to next year already.

Hi For the people complaining this honestly is a great show.
Defence Estates and the weather conspired to make life very difficult for the organisors and others. A lot of the stalls/ displays did not attend due to the weather we struggled with the Daleks and hope the Stig made up for our lack of interaction.
I think the best was made of a bad thing and please give the event a fair chance with decent weather and no stupid red tape.
Last year the event was Brilliant.
