The Show

It's not just an air show! The Abingdon Air & Country Show has a varied ground show to go along with the large scale fly-in of both modern and vintage aeroplanes and the associated air display.

Ground Attractions in the past have included the Dr Who Daleks, Arena displays which have included Sheepdog demonstrations, Oxfordshire Fire Service, RBS Williams F1 showcar, various World War Two re-enactment displays, Mobile Farm, Crafts Fayre, Tank Rides, Kids Amusements including Bouncy Castle, Climbing Wall and Crazy Cottage, Dalton Barracks Army PR Display (3 & 4 Regiments RLC), Top Fuel Dragster,Farmers Market, as well as over 80 Trade Stalls and Displays, Fiona Harrison singing 1940s music and more!

We have always aimed to make our show a great family day out with lots to do and see for everybody - and it's all for charity, as we support the local Air Ambulance. The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance, like all Air Ambulance services in the UK, is funded entirely by donations from the public and private companies.

Flying Display Aircraft

The afternoon Flying Program is normally of around 3 hours duration, including some of the best military and civilian performers on the airshow circuit.

RNLAF F-16 RAF VC-10 DC-3

Participants at past shows have included the amazing RNLAF F-16 Fighting Falcon, most of the RAF types such as Jaguar, VC-10 tanker, C-17 Globemaster III, Tucano, Merlin helicopter, Hawk, Tutor, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Lancaster, Spitfires and Hurricanes, the Royal Navys Lynx helicopter plus a variety of civilian acts from the Hunters and Gnats of Delta Jets through Dakotas, T28 Fennec, Extra 300L,the Swift Glider Aerobatic Display Team, Jet Provost, Vampire and many more.

Static Display Aircraft

C-17 As well as just about all the Flying Display aircraft being available on the ground for static viewing, the Fly In participants are available for viewing and, weather permitting, we expect around 50 visitors, which have included in the past from the an RAF C17 Globemaster III, Puma and Merlin helicopters, based Grob Vigilants, Hawk through to Polish Navy M28 Bryza patrol aircraft & United States Army UH60 Blackhawk helicopter as well as a selection of light aviation types.

There are usually at least one or two RAF aircraft opened up for visitor tours, with the crews on hand to show you round and explain what they do.

Vintage & Classic Vehicles

Cars With vintage and classic vehicles of all types attending we will have a bumper selection ranging from classic cars, police cars, buses, ex- military vehicles, miniature steam engines, a steam roller and much more. The Abingdon MG Car Works Rally join us, with road runs from locations around the region to meet at the show, with over 200 assorted MGs expected to be on display, with the 2010 rally attracting owners from as far as Norway.

Security We are now taking enquiries for the 2011 show - please see the Contacts page for who to contact regarding particular areas. If you wish to setup early or leave vehicles or aircraft onsite, be advised that for the whole duration of the show, we have 24 hour security in place - both static guards and dog handlers and this will again be evident in 2011.
